So saddened to learn that my best friend, my mentor, and my teacher Vincent "Mr. Animation" Foster has passed away. He is one of the most legendary poppers and street dancers around and always made everyone smile. Sunrise in the deep playa this morning... I've been awake for 25 hours, 90% of it driving/lines to get here to Burning Man. We were SO TIRED when we got here at 3:30 AM after a very long day... but we knew the sunrise was only a few hours away and hundreds of new places to discover! Rene and I jumped on some bikes to explore for a few hours. Now on view at the @newmuseum the exhibition ‘The waiting room’ by Simone Leigh. She is an American artist that explores health and wellness and talks about the concerns, roles, and rights of women of color, wanting it to be recognized as central, rather than pushed to the margins. Also on view there: "Screens Series: Agnieszka Polska”, a platform for the presentation of new video works by emerging contemporary artists.
